I began playing and singing at the age of 6/7 years old. I started traveling to perform in just a couple years with My father and performing traditional Bluegrass music. I then started a family Bluegrass band with my Dad and sisters which would be called The Cana Ramblers. We toured for six years playing festivals all over the eastern U.S. Since then I attended Virginia Tech University and acquired a BA in History. About the time I was starting college I became obsessed with playing Country electric guitar. It is a hybrid technique often heard in "honky tonk" country music that is spanky and twangy. After spending several years experimenting and playing a lot of different Genres I I formed my own band (The Will Jones Band). I have had this band for going on six years now.
My teaching style is unique. When I first started teaching I found that it was much more effective to teach someone to "play" music before ever addressing specific songs. I want my students to have an understanding of chords, timing, rhythm and how to be "playing" music as quickly as possible. Thats where the fun is!

It helps to acquire a guitar before HOWEVER, a lot of my lessons involve thoughts and approach so we could get started even without an instrument.
