My name is Levi Rainwater. I am from the Cayuga tribe in New York. I was born in New York but have been living in North Carolina for most of my life. I have been playing the native American flute for 7 years. I play the native American flute at most pow wows through out North Carolina along with other states. I have also taught and organized flute classes for the Occaneechi Saponi tribe and the Meherrin tribe in NC. The flute is my passion! The flute heals the soul and gives many people peace. I play the flute for my native people to bring healing and encouragement.
My teaching style is simple. I want my students to have a fun and relaxed experience. I try to give my students complete and undivided attention to ensure their success. I feel like the flute is like no other instrument, because when you play it needs to come from the heart. I try to help my students achieve that. I also help the more advance students that get stuck in a creative block by introducing different exercises to overcome the creative block. I feel like I am very down to earth and by the end of class you will have a great experience.
