The Richmond Folk Festival celebrated its 16th anniversary the weekend of October 9-11 with a “virtual” event that brought together the community through a special television program, radio broadcasts and online streaming. The show went on—a virtual event celebrating the roots, richness, and variety of American culture.
Venture Richmond Events, in partnership with the National Council for the Traditional Arts (NCTA), the Virginia Folklife Program at Virginia Humanities, and the Children’s Museum presented new musical performances that were exclusive to this festival and highlights of favorite artists from past festivals and cooking demonstrations from the Virginia Folklife Stage.
Though we were disappointed that we couldn’t celebrate along the banks of the James River, these online streaming sessions highlight some of the magic of the Richmond Folk Festival. Enjoy!
