Folklife Apprenticeship artists and special guests will share their work and expertise as part of IllumiNATION, presented by the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This four-night screening of breathtaking video art projection on the museum’s façade will bring the American story to life. Before sunset, enjoy a festival block party atmosphere featuring local bands, art displays, community group exhibitors, and crafts and games for the whole family. More about this free event.

- Thursday, June 25: Virginia Salt Glaze Pottery with Josh Manning & Ozzy B. Aslan Freidline
- Friday, June 26: African American Quilting with Martha Jones Carter, Jacqueline Carter, and the Kuumba African American Quilting Guild. Featuring special guests master quilter Edith Younger Edmunds and her daughter Amy Edmunds.
- Saturday, June 27: Blue Ridge Mountain Instrument Making with Jackson Cunningham, Raistlin Brabson and Margo MacSweeney
- Sunday, June 28: Mattaponi Pottery with Autumn Custalow Alfaro and Native American Ribbon Skirts with Sierra Osbourne
