Sephardic Folk Songs: The Journey Continues
A Note To Listners:
As is true of most languages, spellings and phrasings
differ from one geographical area to another. The Ladino language as presented on these pages, is specific to
Sarajevo, Bosnia, and for Flory Jagoda, is literally “la lingua de la madre,” the language of her mother
and her grandmother.
This record is dedicated to my parents, Frances and Phillip Feltman, who love me unconditionally and inspire me through their love for the Jewish people, and to my amazing sons, Andreas, Raphael, Julian and Adriel.
-Susan GaetaMy Nona would say, “Si nu puedis meter la alma, nu kantis,”—
“If you can’t put soul into your songs, don’t bother to sing at all.”
-Flory Jagoda
